WalkWithMe 2016
For the third year in a row, the WalkWithMe team chose to fundraise for Action Against Cancer and we were all thrilled!
The event went perfectly on Sunday 22nd May, held in the beautiful grounds of Moulsford School, Moulsford-on-Thames. The walkers enjoyed the glorious sunshine as they followed the route windingthrough some stunning South Oxfordshire countryside, including the western reaches of the Chiltern Path, and along the banks of the River Thames.
Originally conceived by a group of local mums in 2011, with the concept of "walking together to make a difference" the event has the following aims
- Raise money for charity
- Get together with friends and family or even those you don't know
- Get fit for a great cause
WalkWithMe 2016 astonishingly raised more than £107,000! This funding is going towards a project aiming to overcome resistance to platinum therapy in ovarian cancer patients, to improve the quality of life and survival prospects for thousands of women. Huge thanks to all of the WalkWithMe team from all at Action Against Cancer.
One of the WalkWithMe team and also an Action Against Cancer Ambassador, the wonderful Olivia Alderson, sadly passed away shortly after the 2016 event. Olivia is pictured here with Action Against Chairwoman, Hilary Craft. Olivia will be greatly missed by us all.
