Fabulous Charity Ball!
Seven months ago, we had a simple but powerful idea: to bring people together for a night of fun, friendship, and fundraising in support of cancer charities. What started as a conversation quickly turned into months of planning, hard work, and, at times, a little bit of panic.
Behind it all was something personal to all of us, we wanted to celebrate the life of Jade, who we all dearly miss, so we wanted raise awareness to one of Jade's charities - Coppafeel!.
So, the four of us got to work. With no experience but plenty of determination and big ideas, we poured our time and energy into turning our idea into reality. The journey wasn't without challenges: venue hiccups, cancelled suppliers, and the anxious thought that all our efforts might be met with empty seats. But we clung to one idea… if you don't ask, you don't get. So we asked. We asked friends, businesses, and strangers for support, raffle prizes, and donations. And to our amazement, people said yes.
The week leading up to the ball was a blur of stress, nerves, and occasional bickering, but when Saturday night arrived, everything fell into place. Guests were greeted with bubbly and the buzz of casino tables, laughter filled the room, and there was a powerful sense of community. Everyone united by the same cause.
The auction was a highlight of the evening, with guests outbidding one another in the spirit of generosity. Every penny from the auction and raffle went directly to the charities, and people dug deep, determined to make a difference. By the end of the night, we had raised an incredible £16,525, which will be split equally between Action Against Cancer and Coppafeel!
We couldn't be prouder of what was achieved. These charities are already accomplishing so much, and knowing we can support their work is something that fills us with pride and gratitude.
Most importantly, we want to say thank you. Thank you to everyone for saying yes!
A special thank you to Charley from Action Against Cancer for attending and sharing such a moving speech, and to Allison, founder of Kokoro, and Tere, director of Raindrops on Roses, for their inspiring words on the night.
Thank you to Raindrops on Roses and Kokoro for your constant support, thank you to the generous donors who provided raffle and auction prizes, and thank you to every single person who attended the event. None of this would have been possible without you.
